Leap 300 Internship.
“The Leap 300 internship was an amazing experience for me. I used to think coding was just for making games, but now I see how it can help people in need. One project I worked on was an app to help beneficiaries track profits and spendings. Seeing how grateful they were made me realize the impact of technology. I was surprised by the extent of poverty I saw - not enough clothes, extreme heat, no constructed houses, etc. There was so much struggle, but people were happy with so little. It has made me more grateful for what I have. This internship taught me the importance of using my skills to help others, and I think every teenager should have the opportunity to experience something like this.”
Nikhil Arya, 15 years, Thomas Wootton High School
“Seeing how the Leap 300 beneficiaries live, has made me more motivated to help them with their situation. Over the course of the internship, I learnt how to analyze a situation, and understood why what Leap 300 is doing is so important. It was very encouraging to see the beneficiaries focussed on education, e.g. kids went to english medium school. After experiencing working with Leap 300 for a few weeks, I really think it's worth doing long term, to have a real impact on the world.”
Kiyaah Raghuwanshi, 13 years, Ardee School
“When I interacted with the Leap 300 beneficiaries, it was very surprising and new for me to see the living situations and state of housing (e.g. houses made of mud). It was a very humbling experience and I felt very lucky to have the things I have. I feel changed because I’ve gotten to experience such an important moment in other people’s lives - helping these people in poverty and maybe changing their lives for the better. I have a better understanding of what people in poverty go through and how they live. Besides this eye-opening experience, over the internship period I also learned how to better analyze things and my surroundings as well as communicate better.”
